We often hear buzz about Spirit Guides and Guardian Angels that we can connect to for guidance. Most people instantly think of the most common guides and angels like Archangel Michael and the other Archangels, native american spirit guides and other ascended masters, gods and goddesses.
But there are so many more that you can connect to! Spirit guides are all around us, available to offer help, to give us guidance and inspiration to overcome any challenges we are currently facing. There is no rule of thumb that says you have to be dead for so many years before you can come back and be a guide!
Here are my Top 5 favorite modern day Spirit “Guru” Guides to connect into:
Steve Jobs (for ideation) Call me crazy, but I am telling you this guy is my go-to guide! His energy and spirit can be called upon anytime you need forward thinking and ideation! He brings me strategies and solutions for my business, and words of wisdom when I need it most. I also ask for him to lead me towards links, articles, blogs and podcasts that can help me find clarity. It never fails, I always come up with a soul-ution when tapping into his energy field!
Walt Disney (for creativity) The very first time I connected to him, I thought I was imagining! But within one minute, I had a creative download for an entire fiction book and movie. I had song lyrics, colorful images and characters dancing through my mind! I am not an author (yet), and do not do anything with screen writing or storytelling, so I let this beautiful idea go. Wouldn’t you know it, not even a year later, I saw my idea brought to life in the movie Epic. (I’m sure Walt wasn’t happy considering that didn’t end up being a Disney film haha). Call on him any time you need some creativity flowing to you for projects you are working on!
Robin Williams (for support and encouragement) He will show up every time with that smile he was so well known for. I can feel him nudge me to keep going, to let go of despair and give a reminder that there is nothing I can’t accomplish with my faith and belief in the Universe. He will be there for you too in those times of darkness of doubt. His energy can be felt by almost instantly calming any anxiety/depression you might feel in your chest.
Albert Einstein (for innovation) Stuck in figuring out the “how”? Just take a few minutes and ask him to step forward as your guide! His energy will show up in a way that gives a friendly reminder that persistence is what will prevail. You will be renewed with a sense of urgency to accomplish your goals and tasks! DOn’t be surprised if the answer you have been searching for shows up shortly after you start thinking about him or trying to connect to him in a meditation.
Princess Diana (for grace and strength) Whether you are a fan or not of this real life princess, her Spirit is full of energy that wants to bring you peace, clarity and conviction to go affter whatever you desire with grace and integrity. Call upon her when you are ready to create your desires and bring your misssion to this workld. You can ask her to ignite you with passion and purpose to help bring healing and serenity to a chaotic world.
More than anything, just remember you can always call on those who have crossed over into the afterlight! They are readily available to connect and bring forward guidance to help you through any situation you are facing. These modern day guides know what it is like to be human. They remember the challenges we face and the ups and downs of human life. Trust in their wisdom and above all, follow your intuitive knowing and inner soul compass.
Anyone who has ever experienced an “ah-ha” moment, a “million dollar” idea or “divine download” knows that it is one of the most addictive experiences you can ever have as an entrepreneur! You grow to crave that connection and look forward to the insight that comes in such mysterious ways. I am totally being honest when I say that the creative ideation process is one of my most favorite experiences I have ever experienced! There is nothing more thrilling to me then a brilliant idea that makes that light bulb in my soul, (and above my head), spark up! Everything that has ever come into existence comes from one of those “spark starters”, and they all come from the Universe and are ready to rendezvous with us at any given point!
Here are the top 5 ways to connect with the Universe to get creative ideas consistently:
Take it when it comes, morning, noon or night. Or in my case, 3 am. Inspiration is not always convenient. Be ready to jot down the idea in a bathroom, laundry room, car, etc. You never know when inspiration will hit, so be prepared! Big mistake- to think you will remember the idea later. You won’t.
Express a moment of gratitude for the new ideas as they come in. Before jumping in, take a moment to feel truly grateful for the creativity that is flowing your way! Thank the Universe for the insight! This makes it much easier for more ideas to be delivered to you on a consistent basis.
Play with the idea. Enjoy it. Bask in it. Dream up crazy and amazing ideas on what it can become and grow into. Don’t allow fear, doubts or HOW to show up and crush your ideation. Enjoy the dance, let the idea lead.
Don’t make your creating a To Do List! Let it come from a place of inspiration! Yes, we absolutely need routine and structure for our business. You have to be grounded in content creation, but keep yourself open as a creative channel for ideas to come in as many ways as possible! Open to the Universe, grounded to the Business…
Let your intuition lead you to inspired ideas and to inspired action steps to take that are for your contents highest good! When you are clear and in alignment, the creative ideas will start to flow to you! These inspired ideas come from the Universe and they come from being in flow and in a high vibratatory state!

Spirit is simple and wants to make the connection with us as easy as possible!
Here are the top 10 signs to know your loved one in Spirit is near:
The random memory of someone who has passed away comes to mind. Even though we like to think of this as coincidence or just us recollecting moments that made us happy, this memory is coming into your awareness for a reason. It’s been placed there by Spirit. They want you to feel and remember because they are near to you in that moment.
You hear a song on the radio that catches your attention and makes you think of your passed loved one. The song is divinely coming into your awareness for reason – it is to make you reflect on the emotions that the song is evoking and bring you closer to spirit for just those few minutes as you listen to the song and reminisce.
Coins. These are easy for Spirit to put right in your path, and they are truly pennies from Heaven. Coins are beautiful little reminders that your passed loved one is still near and they are doing just fine! Pay attention to the dates on the coin and see if it is relevant to an event connected to Spirit!
You smell something that triggers a memory. Similar to how a song can trigger a memory, Spirit can bring certain smells into our awareness so that we can feel connected to our loved ones. It will most likely appear out of nowhere. For example, you walk into a room and smell smoke or perfume, even though nobody is in the space.
Birds. They come to us as winged messengers- just like angels! They come into our surroundings to catch your eye and remind you to relax into nature, which allows an easier connection to Spirit.
You encounter someone/something with their name. Nothing is coincidence! Spirit is always rearranging things for you to have these encounters, so that you are given constant reminders that our loved ones are still with us!
You get truthbumps and feel chills- a tell-tale sign that your physical body is feeling spiritual energy! When you feel these sensations, take a moment and be mindful of anyone in Spirit that “pops” into your mind. I guarantee you, they are near you your heart!
You think you hear their voice. You turn your head, look down the hall but you know you just heard their voice! No, you’re not going crazy, again, just another way that Spirit gains your attention! If you hear it, it’s there and it was real!
You have a dream about them. Even though it was “just a dream”, that interaction is as real as it can come. Yes your subconscious kicks in some bizarre elements, but there is a message in the dream.
You see someone that looks like them and you have to do a double take. It’s not your mind playing tricks on you and no double take is needed. These moments are created to give you a jolt, a trigger. Pay attention to your thoughts and emotions in the moment.
So you see, our loved ones reach out all the time, in as many ways as possible! Don’t just chalk it up to coincidence, know that it’s a spiritual synchronicity divinely designed for you!
There is something about Spring that brings new possibilities and new light! Especially here in MN, we live for the sprouting of new green grass, the ice disappearing from our beloved lakes, and the return of sunshine! Along with all of those signs of renewed life, comes the signs from Spirit that they are also still with us!
When Nature comes into full bloom, it can trigger many feelings and memories of our passed loved ones! The birds are active, so we see them more, and Spirit loves to send the birds our way with the whisper of “I love you” on their wings, and the dragonflies bring the secrets of what real transformation looks like. This spring allow the nature around you to inspire and uplift you. Let it also be a reminder of how beautiful and sacred living really is!

One of the most common questions that I hear from people is “How can I find a career or business that I am passionate about” or “What is my career path?” Time and time again I get the message from the Universe that we all truly have a bigger plan and purpose, but we often get distracted with worry and get stuck in fear which keeps us in jobs we aren’t passionate about. We all have gifts, talents, and abilities, but like with anything else if you don’t try to strengthen them, or if you don’t trust them, they will feel distant from your grasp and out of reach. I consistently see a line connected to what we wanted to be “when we grew up” to our “calling”. Think back to Kindergarten when they asked you what you wanted to be when you grew up. There is almost always a spark that will stir, and a passion that is still there.
Here are a few examples of what your calling could be related to what you wanted to be when you grew up:
Police Officer/Firefighter- Part of what you came into this world to do is tied to protecting and keeping others safe
Teacher- You wanted to share words of wisdom and knowledge with others
Artist- You wanted to create beauty to bring joy to others
President/Authority Figure- You have a gift for bringing integrity and upholding value, being a peacemaker
Veterinarian- special connection to animals and healing those suffering
Doctor- bringing health, healing, and comfort to people in need
There are many more professions and many more reasons why you are here, and why you chose the life path you did. If you are still unsure, ask yourself a this very basic question:
“If money didn’t matter, what would I spend my time on?”
